Oh no, I didn’t leave! And I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon, so don’t worry about that! I’ll admit though, I guess have been rather inactive there, probably much more than I realized, ahhhhh….
I originally just wanted to post sketches here because somewhere along the way, I got it into my head that my DeviantArt account is supposed to be for more “serious” artworks, like pieces that I’ve put a lot of effort into and am especially proud of. But as time’s gone on, I started liking how light-weight Tumblr feels compared to DA and I guess I just sorta started thinking that none of my art has been good enough to put onto DA anymore, despite how long I’ve spent on it. /~\; And it’s that small thought that’s really started to intimidate me over the past year or so, which is really silly because DA’s actually an art website, much more so than Tumblr is! But still, hhhhhh
I’ll try and post more artwork on DA though if I can remember, and I’m really sorry for how inactive I’ve been in general! ;3;

Erika has always been one of my favorite Gym Leaders. (◡‿◡✿)
Sometimes when I’m trying to figure out a character I’ll draw them a bit for practice before starting on the real deal but I tend to delete them right after
because I’m an awful person, but I thought I’d keep them as a little surprise for Demu instead! I hope you enjoy my silly gifts! UvU/
Somewhere in space, there is a ghost way up high that give off the most beautiful colors I have ever seen…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN!!! I HOPE YOU HAVE THE DINKIEST BIRTHDAY EVER.
A cool picture for a cool dude of his cool character as a thank you gift for being pretty cool! (｀ω´)9
Aww man, I knew I should have saved the file for this one! Luckily it was last picture I drew so I still remember the process for it. So here’s a quick ‘n’ easy little tutorial on how I did that particular Goomy pic. :D
Step 1): Draw your thingy! Here I drew my favorite pile of goo using a marker-like crayon brush in SAI.
Step 2): Add some color under that lineart! These can always be tweaked later.
Step 3): Slap a shadow on it! On a layer above the color, I added a textured purple shadow and set the layer to “Multiply,” then added a fringe effect on it which gives it that darker color on the edges.
Step 4): Sprinkle some more color! Here I took the pink from Goomy’s mouth and applied it to some areas to give more depth and to also break up that boring shadow. This layer is set to “Lumi & Shade” at a lower opacity and placed over the Multiply layer.
Step 5): Splash even MORE color! Here I added a nice blue at a lower opacity to contrast with the pink and other colors going on in the palette.
Step 6): BOOM! A background has been born. Checkers have never looked so good.
Step 7): Time to get fancy. Here I copied the lineart layer twice, then stuck them all the way back behind the very first color layer. Then I take one layer and readjust it to the left, and take the other layer and readjust it to the right. From there, I took one of the layers and made it the same pink from earlier, and then did the same with the second layer and made it blue for contrast. Then I put both layers on Lumi & Shade, giving it a sort of CRAZY 80’s NEON LIGHT kinda vibe.
And with that, voila! You now have a funky-fresh booger baby ready to boogie on into the night.
PS- Don’t be afraid to tweak these steps and experiment with it too! Some of the best methods are found by total accident (( which is how I came across this particular style, haha )). Have fun and happy arting!
Hey guys, it’s me again! Sorry I haven’t been very active lately. The reasoning for that, though, is this: charms charms charms (and Pokemon)!!! And I’ve got some good news!!~! but also bad news regarding charms.
Everyone loves good news, so let’s go with the good news first, and that is THE CHARMS ARE HAPPENING AND FINISHED! They are going to be a real thing that you guys can purchase, as well as the very first physical products I’ll ever sell! So I’m super-duper excited for that and I hope you are too! Here’s a sneak-peek into what they’ll look like.
But here’s the bad news: the company I’ve ordered the charms from says they won’t be ready until a month from now. Which can seem like forever when you order something online.
So my dilemma is this: should I start selling the charms now through a special “pre-order” service via my online shop, or just wait until I physically have them a month from now to start offering them? Unfortunately, the wait will still be a month or so regardless, so I’m leaving this up to you guys!
Which would you rather do: pre-order charms now or order when I have them? What are your thoughts on this???
TEAM STORM CLOUD IS HERE TO KICK BUTT AND TAKE NAMES just—… wait a sec while I get my list out. Oh wait what, you forgot to bring a pencil? Well how are we supposed to take names now???
